UNDER THE PAVING STONES... THE BEACH! Pierrot Carrilero revels in the bowels of the fashion world at Peanut Underground.
Pierre's art and fashion has been shaped by a life enthusiastically lived, in punk, love and revolution. Come celebrate a turbulent life made hilarious happening between Lyon, Paris, and New York. Artist-Designer Pierrot Carrilero has been a LVMH model, Troma Film actor, musician and nanny before designing for fellow knitwear designer Miguel Androver. Pierre is best known for continually reinventing the standards of fashion and printmaking.
From a childhood spent on the streets of Paris in 1968 with his neighbor and friend, Paloma Picasso; to his mentor, Michel Foucault, Pierre's work embodies a statement of his time.

IN 1968, I CAME ACROSS SOME POLITICAL GRAFFITI WRITTEN ON THE WALLS OF PARIS

I AM A MARXIST OF THE GROUCHO VARIETY
UNDER THE PAVING STONES…THE BEACH !
UNDER THE PAVING STONES…THE BEACH !
USING EVERY MEDIUM I COULD, MUSIC , CABARET, PERFORMANCES, PAINTING, EVEN FASHION, I ALWAYS INFUSED MY POLITICAL VIEWS.
THEY WERE AMUSING AND YET SPOT ON. MY LIFE AS A REVOLUTIONARY HAS BEEN SHAPED BY THESE MESSAGES.
PROTESTS WERE NOISY, BORING AND BRUTAL(.STONEWALL AND WIGSTOCK NOT INCLUDED). GAY PRIDE HAS LONGED CEASED TO BE A PROTEST MOVEMENT. "OCCUPY WALL STREET" WAS SLOPPY.

AS A TEEN IN 1977, THE ENGLISH PUNK MOVEMENT CAME UP WITH " NO FUTURE " , RELEVANT YET GLOOMY. I CAME UP WITH MY OWN SLOGAN :
"FUCKED BY THE SYSTEM" .
IT IS ABOUT YOU, ME AND ALL OF THE OTHERS.THE SYSTEM SPARES NO ONE.
THE NEW " DANSE MACABRE".

THE PIECES I AM PROPOSING ARE PLAYFUL MAYBE, YET, THEY REMIND US TO NEVER LET DOWN OUR GUARD. THE SYSTEM LIKE BIG BROTHER IS RELENTLESS.
REVOLUTION LIKE WAR, RELIGION, ART AND SEX IS A BUSINESS.
