Ketta Ioannidou

Ioannidou’s paintings exist in a dreamlike state, creating a weightless, fleeting moment and an indeterminate psychological space. Migrating between water, sky and land she creates abstract images in a process that feels like layering memories, simplifying them down to their essence – the shapes, the colors, the feelings. Flurries of deep vibrant hues are amplified, blended, blurred, and soaked until they appear liquid, invoking morphing landscapes and dissipating natural phenomena receding towards oblivion.
